As a student in drama at Les Muses since 2002, Marc Barakat
distinguishes himself with the high quality of his verbal expression
and his strong stage presence. He’s been part of the production
Ailleurs presented by Les Muses at the Maison de la Culture Mercier
in March 2003, and Leçons, which was presented in the winter of
2005, at Théâtre La Chapelle by Les Productions des pieds des mains.
He also offered an outstanding performance as the talk-show host in
Joe Jack and John’s Ce soir l’Amérique prend son bain (at the Bain
Mathieu, 2005), in a performance that did not go unnoticed by
Le Devoir’s theatre critic Hervé Guay, who wrote: « With gusto,
fiery Marc Barakat interprets the host as much as the guest »
(04/10/2005). His adventure with this emerging company
continued the following year when he was selected to create
and interpret Marco’s character with, among others,
well-known stage actress Élisabeth Chouvalidzé in
Go shopping [et fais le mort].
